A representatitive for Seattle's Harborview Medical Center says one of two young men shot and seriously wounded at Southcenter Mall in Tukwila has died.
Police began evacuating Southcenter Mall in Tukwila after Saturday afternoon's shooting.
The mall was locked down Saturday night and police told all the mall's stores to shut their doors. Meanwhile, a SWAT team conducted a store-by-store search for the young man believed responsible for the shootings.
Police spokesman Mike Murphy said police believed the shooter, armed with a pistol, might still be in the mall.
The assailant and the two victims were all in their late teens or early 20s. The two victims were rushed to Harborview after the shootings. Murphy said no other people were injured.
SWAT teams from all over Puget Sound converged on the mall to help search for the suspect, who is believed to have gotten into an altercation with the two victims.
Witness Kayla Shaw says she was eating lunch when she heard gunshots. She says she saw someone being handcuffed before she evacuated.
